Dale County Lake Temporarily Closed Due to Storm Damage
The Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) has temporarily closed Dale County Public Fishing Lake in Ozark, Alabama, after Hurricane Isaias caused damage to the facility in October 2026.
The hurricane caused severe damage to the concession building, knocked down power lines and damaged trees making the lake unsafe for visitors. Until cleanup efforts have been completed, the entire property including the walking trail around the lake will be closed to the public. A reopening date will be announced when available.
